Life Begins in the Garden

This program focuses on natural ways to experience health and wholeness as God intended from the beginning.  This is a new program for 2016.  More detail will be available starting in early 2016.

Introduction

The Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. And out of the ground the Lord God made very tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food.”  Genesis 2:9a

Life Begins In the Garden is to bring awareness to the need to get back to taking care of our bodies—the temple where God dwells as He intended from the beginning. This awareness has several focuses:

  • Eating the right things
  • Treating the body right
  • Using the right remedies when the bodies is not functioning as it should

This section of our website, will feature ways you can improve in all three of the focus points listed above.

In January 2015, I read a book that revolutionized my life in this area of eating the right things. The book reminded me of many things I knew, but had ignored for years. It also, enlightened me in many areas that I was not aware of.

First, let me share my testimony of how my life changed!

From a life threatening illness to a healthy Recovery

I am so excited to share with you my personal journey from a life threatening illness to a healthy recovery.

First, let me give you some of my family history. My mother had many life-threatening illnesses. When she passed away, she had heart disease, high blood pressure, kidney disease (was on dialysis three times a week), high cholesterol, and glaucoma. My dad, who was a picture of health all his life, started coughing one day and couldn’t stop. We rushed him to the hospital. There he was told he had fourth stage of lung cancer. He died two weeks later! I come from a large family and also all of my siblings have high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. I thought I was an exception. But, I was wrong. In 2006 I learned that I had high cholesterol. It was 340! So, I started exercising 3 times a week. I thought that would do take care of “my problem.” Wrong!!!

I didn’t change anything else. I felt that I already eat pretty good so it was a matter of exercise. That was an easy fix. A year later, I was the host of a “Knowledge Seminar.” The topic was Women Love Your Heart. A renown cardiologist was speaking. She said, “every day that your cholesterol is over 200, you are on your way to a heart attack!” Needless to say, that got my attention. It got my attention so much so that after the seminar, I made an appointment with her. Sure enough, my cholesterol was still over 300! She dug into my eating habits and my exercise habits. She told me then, several things to do to change my condition—to not only lower my cholesterol, but the cause it to be normal. Sadly, I didn’t do what she told me. Well, let’s say I went to another doctor, got some pills and I took them.

In January 2015, I read a book that woke me up from my denial that I needed to change. The information in the book was so convincing that I knew I had to make some drastic changes. The book said everything the Cardiologist had said, but with so much more knowledge. I made all the changes IMMEDIATELY! Yes! I immediately increased my intact of raw fruits and vegetables. I started exercising every day. I stopped eating meats. It was as if God educated me and then took the very taste from my mouth. I stopped eating eggs and used egg beaters. I still eat seafood, but I’m working on that as well. I’m still learning and believing that I will change in that area as well.

I had a physical in June 2015. When I got my results, my cholesterol was normal! Hallelujah! My weight was down 35 pounds. I feel better than I have felt in many years—I have more energy. I have been sharing with everybody I love and know. Why? Because I want them to be in good health as well.
